Wesley Laird

Wes Laird has been practicing law in Opp, Alabama for almost 22 years. He has successfully represented many paraplegics and quadriplegics, victims of brain injury, and wrongful death victims over the years against large trucking companies, automobile manufacturers, construction companies, and oil companies .

Wes is a Sustaining Member of the Alabama Association for Justice, serves on the Executive Committee of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, and is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association. He has been recognized as one of the Top One Hundred Trial Lawyers in Alabama.

Wes Laird served as lead Class Counsel for Alabama City School Boards in a class action case involving Sixteenth Section Trust Funds that resulted in a $41 Million Settlement with the State of Alabama.

Wes Laird serves his community as an industrial developer, city attorney, city school board attorney, a member of the South Alabama Regional Airport Board of Directors and a member of the Southern Independent Bank Board of Directors.

David Baker

David Baker has been practicing with the firm for over fifteen years. A graduate of Auburn University, UAB, and Cumberland School of Law, Baker has spent his career successfully defending clients wrongly charged with DUI (driving under the influence), murder, possession, distribution, and white collar crimes.

David Baker has represented hundreds of desperate parents in divorce, visitation, and child custody and support cases.

David is a strong advocate in the courtroom who has built a reputation for fighting hard for his clients, no matter the difficulty of the case.

David is an active member and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Opp and a scout leader and youth coach.

Thomas A. Blackstock, Jr.

Thomas A. “Andy” Blackstock, Jr. has over 12 years experience with the firm. Andy Blackstock earned his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Alabama.

Andy Blackstock has extensive experience in real estate closings and can provide title insurance for all your real estate needs. He has handled many landline disputes and adverse possession claims.

In addition, Andy Blackstock provides debt counseling to those who are unable to pay their bills and regularly practices in the Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Alabama.

Andy Blackstock has extensive experience representing farmers in crop insurance claims and other agricultural problems.

Andy is a member of First Baptist Church of Opp and a scout leader. He has also served as Chairman of the Opp Cultural Arts Council.
