Opp Cultural Arts Council Concert
RobinElla charmed the audience at Opp High School Auditorium Saturday
Night October 21 when she put on a show for the crowd at the first
Annual Opp Cultural Arts Council Concert. RobinElla with three other
band members quickly charmed the crowd with her own style of music.
"RobinElla is a cross between Emmy Lou Harris and Nora Jones,"
says Cultural Arts Spokesman Andy Blackstock.
RobinElla wove her way through a mix of beautiful original songs
from her previous works and added some new material. She also covered
songs that could have been sung by Billie Holiday.
The opening act for RobinElla was "The Overalls". The
Overalls are a group of songwriters from North Central Alabama who
opened with an eclectic mix or original songs. The groups song "Barbeque"
was rewritten slightly to include Hooks which is the local Barbeque
favorite.
Earlier in the day, RobinElla did an Art Show at the home of Wes
and Deidra Laird. She is an accomplished artist as well as singer
and songwriter.
